Some 2015 – 2017 model year Camry vehicles may exhibit a “Check Brake System” message displayed on the Multi-lnformation Display (MD) in the combination meter/instrument cluster assembly at engine startup along with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) C1441. An updated skid control ECU logic is now available to address this concern.
NOTE: This bulletin does NOT prevent DTC C1441 from occurring.
Repair Procedure:
1. Confirm the presence of DTC C1441. ls DTC C1441 present (current or history)?
>YES: Continue to step 2.
>NO: This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable service information.
2. Utilizing the freeze-frame data captured with the DTC, confirm wheel speed. Do all wheel speeds = 0?
>YES: Continue to step 3.
>NO: For any wheel speed greater than 0, this bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable service information.
3. Using a scan tool, confirm the skid control ECU has the latest calibration.
>YES: This bulletin does NOT apply.
>NO: Reflash the skid control ECU.
4. Perform a test drive to confirm the repair.
