Kia Low Beam Headlights Not Working

Kia Tech Tip: Low-Beam Headlights Not Working

Some Kia Sorento models may experience an inoperable low beam bulb due to poor terminal contact at the low beam bulb connector.

Models:

2011-2013 Sorento

On some 2011 – 2013MY Sorento vehicles, produced from October 24, 2009 through January 31, 2013, may experience an inoperable low beam bulb due to poor terminal contact at the low beam bulb connector. This condition on the affected headlamp does not affect the other low beam. In addition, the high beams continue to function at all times.

Some customers may have replaced the bulb with no resolution. Inspect the socket to see if any of the terminals are melted or damaged by heat, (see Figure 1). Replace the connectors if damaged.

Honda Oil System Inspection

The leading cause of low oil pressure-related complaints with Honda vehicles is the oil level.

Just about every engine lubrication system, including Honda’s, operates the same in theory. An oil pump generates the pressure, oil is sent to oil galleys, and then flows back into the pan. In practice, however, it is much more complicated. An oil system practically manages a controlled leak into the oil pan.
