Federal-Mogul Corporation has continued to aggressively expand its line of MOOG replacement steering and suspension components, with 700 new MOOG part numbers introduced over the past 12 months and 180 new parts rolled out in 2009.

As “The Problem Solver,” Federal-Mogul’s MOOG products improve on original steering and suspension designs to help make installation faster and easier. In addition, the MOOG brand’s greaseable socket design allows contaminants to be flushed out for longer service life, and a patented cover plate virtually eliminates damaging axial and radial deflection. In short, MOOG parts deliver the precise, reliable steering response and handling today’s vehicle owners demand.

Among the new MOOG parts introduced this year are 22 tie rods, 34 sway bar links, 19 strut mounts, 11 control arms, 11 ball joints and dozens of other components covering a wide range of popular domestic and foreign nameplate applications. Nearly 60 percent of the parts added to the MOOG line over the past 12 months specifically address repair needs on foreign nameplate vehicles. Late-model foreign nameplate coverage represented in the most recent MOOG line expansion includes applications from Acura, Audi, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Kia, Lexus, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Suzuki, and Toyota. The latest new domestic MOOG coverage includes several popular Buick, Chevrolet/GMC, Chrysler, Dodge, Eagle, Ford, Jeep, Pontiac and Saturn models.

“The MOOG brand has built its market leadership by offering the best solutions and the right products. That’s why it’s the preferred chassis brand of professional technicians and NASCAR champions,” said Peter Murnen, global director, Undercar Products, Federal-Mogul. “Federal-Mogul’s commitment to innovative, problem-solving engineering is matched by an aggressive, continuing investment in new coverage that leads the chassis category in actual repair opportunities. By relying on MOOG, distributors and repair shops have a true partner in growing their steering and suspension business.”
