ADVICS North America Inc. is marking the company’s 10th anniversary this year, with a celebration that included founding members, family companies, suppliers and employees.

ADVICS North America, Inc. (ADVICS NA) opened its doors in 2002 and established an Engineering Technical Center in Plymouth, Mich. Over the years, ADVICS NA has expanded to include three manufacturing plants and now employs more than 1,200 people in the U.S.

ADVICS designs and manufactures brake components and systems for most of the major automakers, and its systems are used in many of the top-selling vehicles in North America, the company says.

After establishing its reputation with brake system components in the original equipment vehicle market in North America, ADVICS NA says it decided to penetrate the aftermarket. Aftermarket products were initially offered under the Sumitomo friction and AISIN brake hydraulic brands. However, over the past seven years, these brands evolved into the ADVICS brand in an effort to highlight the origin of the engineering expertise.

"ADVICS is growing rapidly around the globe. ADVICS North America Inc. will be an important part of supporting the region with its technical and manufacturing capability," said Takahiro Goshima, president and CEO of ADVICS North America. "We continue to develop our capabilities to meet our customers’ requirements. Since our founding, we have added new equipment and enhanced our skills.  However, we must continue to improve."

ADVICS North America Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of ADVICS Co. Ltd., a leader in brake systems research and development. ADVICS Co. Ltd. has sales of more than $4 billion (USD), locations in eight countries and employs 5,000 globally.
