More, More, More, More Tire Price Increases Coming

Bridgestone Americas said it is raising prices for passenger and light truck/SUV tires – replacement and OE – by up to 8%. The increase will be effective Nov. 1, and will cover Bridgestone, Firestone and associate brand lines.

Michelin North America is increasing prices on both consumer and commercial lines as of Oct. 3. Getting adjustments are Michelin, BFGoodrich, Uniroyal and private and associate brand passenger and light truck/SUV replacement tires, which will increase by up to 9%.

Michelin and BFGoodrich replacement medium truck radials and Michelin Retread Technologies and Oliver brand retread tread rubber will see price increases of up to 8% as of Oct. 3. Michelin replacement ag tires sold in the U.S. and Canada will go up to 6% as of Nov. 1.

Goodyear said it is raising prices on its replacement consumer tires – Goodyear, Dunlop and Kelly brands – sold in North America by up to 5% as of Oct. 1.

Hankook Tire America Corp. took a Sept. 1 price increase of 2% to 4% on some of its passenger and light truck/SUV tires, but it also lowered prices on two touring lines by 5% to 7%, the company said.
