Beck/Arnley Expands 089 OE Foreign Branded Brake Pad Program

Beck/Arnley announced recently that it has expanded its line of 089 OE foreign branded brake pads to include 5,934 applications in this category, with a focus on applications from 1995 to 2010.

Beck/Arnley announced recently that it has expanded its line of 089 OE foreign branded brake pads to include 5,934 applications in this category, with a focus on applications from 1995 to 2010. Professional technicians can visit www.beckcatalog.com to see the OE brands listed by application.

The OE foreign branded brake pads category was launched about 18 months ago and complements the existing range of Beck/Arnley brand OE replacement brake pads. The brake pads are sourced from OE foreign suppliers and provide the foreign nameplate specialist with a direct equivalent to the OE dealership.

Beck/Arnley carries the top, reliable Asian and European brands that are OE in the box, including Sumitomo (SEI), ATE, Mintex, Jurid, TRW, Pagid, Textar, Nissin and Advics. Whether ceramic, organic, or semi-metallic, the material is driven by the OE application. These quality friction products provide excellent heat dissipation and stable braking action.

Beck/Arnley will continue to expand coverage to include other OE brands for Asian and European applications in the future. Mobis was recently added to the list of OE approved suppliers.

“Unlike the competition, Beck/Arnley sources OE brake pads from OE approved suppliers to offer the 089 program,” said Sona Grubbs, product manager for brakes. “Other sources may offer similar brands, but no one has specified the OE approved supplier at the application level like Beck/Arnley. Our foreign nameplate customers will benefit from the range of Beck/Arnley friction products that we offer to keep their vehicles maintained like its original production.”

To service them, you will need the appropriate toolset to lock the crank and camshaft.

The BMW N53 (naturally aspired) and N54 (turbocharged) engines were among the first BMW engines to come with variable valve timing on the intake and exhaust camshafts. The N53 and N54 straight-six have unfairly earned a bad reputation for reliability with technicians due to timing chain and variable valve timing problems. The reputation comes from owners not keeping up with oil changes and it is difficult to check engine timing.
