Auto 7 Launches Industry’s Most Comprehensive Catalog for Korean-Made Vehicles

Comprehensive listing of more than 42,000 applications for North American fleet of Hyundai, Kia and Daewoo vehicles now available on line.

Auto 7, Inc. has partnered with catalog production company Vertical Development Inc. (VDI) to make their new catalog available on line at VDI powered www.ShowMeTheParts.com. The new catalog has more than 42,000 application listings for Hyundai, Kia and Daewoo vehicles, including the GM-Daewoo manufactured Chevy Aveo, across fourteen (14) product categories.

“This is by far the most comprehensive application data available for these vehicles in the independent aftermarket today,” commented Auto 7 President Jon Owens. “Our team of product management and catalog data experts have spent more than two years researching these vehicles and this is the culmination of their hard work and tireless effort.”

The catalog at ShowMeTheParts.com is also accessible through Auto 7’s website at www.auto7inc.com.  Auto 7 has also sent their application data to WHI Solutions (Wrenchead) and Activant for publication in their industry-wide catalogs, and will soon engage with Opti-Cat to have their data published in that system as well.  The data has been mapped to the industry standard ACES format, but can also be published in several other formats upon request.

“Our cataloging efforts are on-going, as they are with all suppliers,” said Auto 7 catalog manager Rod Sullivan.  “But, we published this version now because it encompasses our current inventory.  However, we add new listings almost daily, and based on our internal research, that keeps us well ahead of any other catalog data for these vehicles available in the independent aftermarket.”

According to the most current sales data available, Hyundai/Kia is the seventh largest seller of new cars and light trucks to the U.S. market, on pace to secure slightly more than 8% market share in 2009, and one of only two (2) car makers to have a projected sales increase over 2008 (Subaru is the other).

“Hyundai sold their first vehicles in to this market in 1986,” proclaimed Owens.  “And, this catalog starts in 1986 and has coverage through some 2009 applications.  So, we feel the timing of this launch perfectly coincides with the growing popularity of this particular car maker.”
