Yokohama Tire Earns Third Consecutive Subaru Supplier Award

This earned the tiremaker a spot in in the prestigious Superior Excellent Performance category.

For the third year-in-a-row, Yokohama Tire Corp. was recognized by Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) with a supplier’s award. This earned the tiremaker a spot in in the prestigious Superior Excellent Performance category. Yokohama earned the award for its supply of the AVID S34P (P225/40R18 88V) tires on the Impreza and AVID GT S35 on the Legacy (P225/55R17 97V and 225/50R18 95V) and on the Outback (225/65R17 102H and 225/60R18 100H).

“Once again we are extremely honored to have Subaru recognize Yokohama as one of its top suppliers,” said Andrew Zeisser, Yokohama’s vice president of OEM sales. “It reinforces the long-term commitment we’ve shared with Subaru to provide world-class products and service.”

According to SIA, the criteria for the Superior Excellent Performance award is being a recipient of the Excellent Performance Award for three and four consecutive years. The Excellent Performance Award honors suppliers for safety, quality, cost and delivery.

Both the AVID S34P and AVID GT S35 were developed by applying the basic design and materials technology used in Yokohama’s BluEarth global tire brand. The AVID S34P is an all-season passenger car tire that offers higher fuel efficiency while also providing superior drivability and safety. The all-season AVID GT S35 is a fuel-efficient grand touring tire with superior wet traction, dependable winter traction and a quiet, smooth ride.
