Audi announced it has made its 200th hire in its Veterans To Technicians program, which began two years ago.
Veterans To Technicians matches the right job-seeking veterans with the right openings at fast-growing Audi dealerships. The program matches former military personnel and those who are transitioning from all branches of the armed forces to opportunities in Audi dealerships across the nation.
“Our focus is exclusively on quality — not quantity,” said Bernard Hyland, program manager for CALIBRE Systems of Alexandria, VA. CALIBRE is an Audi business partner that is facilitating the Audi Veterans To Technicians program.
“So, to accomplish screening, interviewing and hiring 200 top-shelf individuals (roughly 100 per year) to meet our exacting standards means that Audi of America is setting up its dealer partners for success, and this program is paying off,” Hyland said.
Audi dealers report that the participants in Veterans To Technicians bring not only a high degree of technical competence, but also a characteristic discipline, maturity, focus on quality and attention to detail to their new employers.
Most of the 257 Audi dealers across the country have begun hiring veterans, and a number of the participating dealers have hired several veterans each — in a few cases, as many as 10 in their service departments.
The veterans hired under the program “are excited to be part of the brand’s culture for innovation, and they enjoy being challenged by the cutting-edge technology found in our vehicles,” Hyland said.
