Johnson Controls has been awarded top honors in multiple categories by Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America Inc. (TEMA). Johnson Controls’ Automotive Seating, Automotive Electronics & Interiors and Power Solutions units received a “Superior” award in supplier diversity for their seating, overhead console, injection molding, headliner, door trim and battery products. The supplier diversity award is given to suppliers that implement diversity activities and exceed Toyota’s targets.

DENSO Launches Tire Pressure Monitoring System Sensor Program

DENSO Products and Services Americas has launched a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensor program to support its aftermarket customers’ needs. According to DENSO, just 16 part numbers cover more than 100 popular passenger cars, SUVs, trucks and crossovers – more than 25 million vehicles on the road. Additional DENSO TPMS sensor part numbers will be announced later this year, the company adds.

For 2007, the Toyota Tundra was redesigned. The body changed, and the foundation brake system was also updated with larger front brake calipers and rear disc brakes. The control system and hydraulics changed with a new vehicle stability system that included yaw, steering angle and brake pedal load sensors.

The owner of 2005 Toyota Avalon complains check engine light is on, rough idle and engine idle surging between 500 and 800 rpm. The technician retrieved Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0171 and P0174 (System too lean banks 1 and 2). The technician replaced the air fuel sensors on both banks and cleared DTCs. After driving vehicle for approximately one mile, all symptoms returned.

Some Corolla and Matrix owners may experience a front brake rattle type of noise when the car is traveling over bumps. Updated front disc brake cylinder (caliper) mountings and disc brake pad support plates are available to eliminate this condition. Conduct a road test to verify the noise condition. Front brake rattle noise will occur when the front tire runs over a depression in the road.

Toyota Safety Recall C0J involved inspecting the right and left Rear Suspension Lower Arm No. 1 for looseness. Based upon this inspection, it may have been necessary to replace the arm(s).
