Many of you may have not seen this issue, but once it bites you, you will always remember the Nissan KA24 engine series in the SOHC configuration. When the timing chain, guides and tensioner get high miles and wear, the chain can actually start rubbing against the front of the block.

Tech Tip: Nissan Quest is Experiencing Brake Lock-Up

Contaminated brake fluid may have blocked the ABS modulator valves or the “dampener valve.” The dampener valve is a component that is screwed into one of the outlet ports of the master cylinder. The brake line for the left-front and right-rear brakes come out of this part. Another possibility is that the ABS system component failure is causing brake pressure not to be released.
