Universal Lubricants Asks Drivers During National Car Care Month to Go Green

During National Car Care Month and with Earth Day right around the corner, Universal Lubricants recommends that drivers make the switch to an environmentally friendly motor oil - ECO ULTRA.

During National Car Care Month and with Earth Day right around the corner, Universal Lubricants recommends that drivers make the switch to an environmentally friendly motor oil — ECO ULTRA. Made in the U.S. at the company’s advanced re-refinery, ECO ULTRA is an American Petroleum Institute (API) certified motor oil that has one of the highest percentages of recycled oil content and meets Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) requirements and current vehicle manufacturers’ specifications. Unlike other companies that simply bottle re-refined oil, Universal Lubricants collects, re-refines, blends and re-distributes its own green motor oil ensuring that every quart, every gallon consistently is of the highest quality for optimal performance.

"Using re-refined (or recycled) oil cuts fossil fuel use, lowers greenhouse gas emissions and reduces harmful environmental impacts on our Nation’s waterways. ECO ULTRA provides American drivers the performance and reliability they expect in a high quality motor oil while at the same time having one of the highest percentages of recycled oil content," said John Wesley, chief executive officer of Universal Lubricants.

The U.S. produces approximately 1.3 billion gallons of used oil each year, and only 10% of it is re-refined. The rest of the used oil is either improperly disposed of (damaging the environment) or burned as an industrial fuel and is gone forever. Universal Lubricants is working to reverse this trend.

Universal Lubricants collects used oil from the government and private business such as auto parts stores, dealerships, service stations and oil change centers across the U.S. The company then transports that oil to one of the world’s most technologically advanced re-refineries located in Wichita, KS, where it undergoes a state-of-the-art hydro-treating process to remove all of the water, fuel and solvents as well as metals, asphalt flux and other heavy contaminants. The purified high quality Grade II base stock oil is then blended with high performance additives to make API certified ECO ULTRA products.

"During National Car Care Month — and all year long — drivers can make a difference. Our recycled motor oil is not only good for your engine, its good for the environment — make the right choice — ask for ECO ULTRA," added Wesley.
