Snap-on Tools Signs Four-Year Extension With Pedregon Racing

Snap-on Tools and Cruz and Tony Pedregon recently announced a four-year sponsorship extension with Pedregon Racing.

Snap-on Tools and Cruz and Tony Pedregon recently announced a four-year sponsorship extension with Pedregon Racing.

"Snap-on’s relationship with Pedregon goes back more than 10 years," said Carl Johanson, Snap-on motorsports marketing manager. "The Pedregons know winning racing and Snap-on knows tools — together it’s a great match."

As Snap-on Tools celebrates its 85th anniversary, it continues to use motorsports as a successful component of its relationship marketing and product development initiatives. Since becoming a motorsports sponsor more than 70 years ago, Snap-on has developed products for the track and racecars that have successfully transcended into vehicle repair on everyday vehicles. Snap-on now has a diversified presence in nearly every major racing event.

"When putting together a world-class race team, you always want the best of everything," said Tony Pedregon, driver of the Q Racing Nitro Funny Car. "Snap-on provides us with the best tools and our other sponsors represent the best in their industries. These relationships are the core that helps us develop an on-track advantage. That’s where we both really benefit from the relationship."

"I’ve been associated with Snap-on Tools since my days with Joe Gibbs Racing back in the 1990s," said Cruz Pedregon, the 1992 POWERade Nitro Funny Car World Champion. "No one makes better tools than Snap-on, so it’s an honor to have them associated with our race teams. We wouldn’t be here today without Snap-on’s products or its long-time support."

The Pedregon brothers are also rounding out a successful 2005 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series campaign. Tony Pedregon, the 2003 POWERade Funny Car World Champion, grabbed his 28th career victory at Maple Grove Raceway in Mohnton, PA, and scored three No. 1 qualifiers this season. Advance Auto Parts Nitro Funny Car driver Cruz Pedregon stole the No. 1 qualifying spot twice this season, while completing an impressive string of five races in a row where he at least reached the semifinals.
