TechShop magazine and Mechanic’s Time Savers (MTS) announce the winner of the magazine’s first Get Organized! (Messiest Toolbox) Contest. Enoc Rios, head technician at International Motor Group in Union, NJ, was nominated by his co-worker Richard Tobias. Tobias sent in the photos below along with this entry:

“I would like to enter my fellow worker in your Messiest Toolbox contest. First, let me start by telling you that he has two big toolboxes and multiple carts. He is the head mechanic in our shop, and he is pulled all over the shop, which is set up like a number 7. He is the senior mechanic, and he has to help all the junior guys with all of the things they can’t figure out. I have never seen him get flustered with any job that was thrown at him (and he gets some of the worst). He can weld, knows computers inside and out and is great at alignments.

“So now you might understand why his toolbox is a mess. We have all put his tools away and tried to organize his box, but within a week it is a mess again. I am hoping with this contest, if he wins it will bring new life into his hopes of organizing his boxes and keeping all his tools in order.”

TechShop would like to thank Enoc Rios and all the readers who took the time to enter the contest,” said Sean Donohue, associate publisher of TechShop. “There were a lot of messy toolboxes that need the help of the Mechanic’s Time Savers products. We found Enoc to be a well-deserving recipient. We’d also like to thank MTS for their generous contribution to the contest.”

“Mechanic’s Time Savers is pleased to reward such an honorable technician as Enoc Rios,” said Shawn Winnard, vice president of MTS. “Now, while Enoc takes the time to mentor another generation of technicians, his tools will be in a well-organized, user-friendly and ergonomically designed storage system.”

Rios will receive $1,000 in organizational tools from Mechanic’s Time Savers, which will include the company’s Magna-Caddy, Magna-Panel, Magna-Rail, Magna-Stik and Magna Tray magnetic tools holders and organizers.
