Meineke Car Care Centers is the latest company to sign on as a sponsor of the Car Care Council Women’s Board 2006 scholarship program. This year’s scholarship is in honor of Jean Kennedy, Meineke’s first female franchisee.

Scholarships will be awarded in July to female students who are pursuing education to prepare themselves for careers in the automotive aftermarket. Scholarships are available for post secondary students who have completed one year at an ASE-certified, post-secondary automobile technology program, and high school seniors who plan on attending an ASE-certified, post-secondary automobile technology program.

Recognized as one of the largest automotive franchises, Meineke franchisees have serviced more than 50,000,000 vehicles since starting out in 1972. There are approximately 900 Meineke franchises throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Ecuador, Guatemala, Venezuela, the Caribbean, China and Saudi Arabia.

“I would like to thank Meineke Car Care Centers for their generous donation to the Women’s Board scholarship program,” said Katie Noga, president of the Car Care Council’s Women’s Board. “It will go towards helping women complete their education and fulfilling their goals of working within the automotive aftermarket.”
