Launched in February 2006, Country Music Television, Inc., premiered its new reality series, Trick My Truck, featuring big-rig makeovers and top-of-the-line welding equipment from The Lincoln Electric Company.

Shot in the heart of trucking industry, Joplin, MO, the show highlights a truck makeover team dubbed the Chrome Shop Mafia — a collaboration of local mechanics from Four States Trucks and Pickett Custom Trucks. Each episode features the Chrome Shop Mafia performing makeovers of rigs belonging to drivers with particular hardships.

A leading welding product featured on the show is Lincoln Electric’s Precision TIG 275, which is the world’s first machine to offer the patent-pending Micro-Start TIG technology, providing a smooth, controlled arc and superior arc starts at low amperage levels for thin materials, even as low as two amps.

“In our shop, we wouldn’t have any other brand than Lincoln Electric,” said the show’s lead fabricator, Rod Pickett. “We find the quality, functionality and the customer service that Lincoln provides superior to anyone out there. We are amazed at the work that we can do with the Lincoln Precision TIG 275 with its built-in pulsing unit. We’re able to make welds that we never thought could be that clean. When you are working on a trucker’s rig, every aspect counts because it is his home away from home. We wouldn’t trust anything but Lincoln in our shop.”

Also featured on the show are Lincoln’s Power MIG 255C and Pro-Cut 55. The MIG 255C is an industry-leading MIG welder for light to medium industrial metal fabrication, maintenance and repair welding. The unit features Diamond Core Technology delivering a forgiving arc, excellent out-of-position arc action, a wide voltage sweet spot and low spatter. Lincoln’s Pro-Cut 55 is a plasma-cutting system that offers significant cutting capacity and fast travel speeds.
