The deadline to take advantage of "early-bird" registration discounts for the Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS) has been extended to Oct. 25. Depending on registration category, most attendees may save $100 or more off standard registration fees.

CARS 2005, sponsored by the Automotive Service Association (ASA), will be held Nov. 3-5 at The Mirage in Las Vegas. Oct. 25 is also the deadline for online registration, which is available on the CARS website, www.CARSonline.org.

Attendees may use the secure online form to register for numerous activities including eight technical courses and five Automotive Management Institute-approved management courses. The CARS website also includes a list of exhibitors, sponsors, speakers, presentations and more.

The CARS 2005 line-up includes the fourth annual Service Professionals Industry Reception co-sponsored by ASA and the International Automotive Technicians’ Network (iATN); and an exhibitor showcase featuring the latest in automotive products and services, which will be held in part during Friday’s CARS luncheon, sponsored by Mitchell 1. CARS will also feature keynote speaker Patrick T. Grady, who will appear at the Saturday luncheon.

CARS is the premier event of ASA’s Mechanical Division. Event sponsors include AutoLand Scientech, Automatic Transmission Service Group, Automotive Career Development Center, Automotive Management Institute, AutoZone/ALLDATA, CARQUEST, CustomerLink, iATN, Identifix, Linder Technical Services, Melior Inc., Mitchell 1, Pace Software Inc., Standard Motor Products and WORLDPAC.

"It’s not too late to register for CARS 2005. The program is stronger than ever and promises to deliver top-notch education, entertainment and networking opportunities," said Robbie Addison, ASA’s Mechanical Division manager. "This is the annual event that should be experienced by every automotive service professional across the country."

ASA members who purchase a full registration to CARS before Oct. 14 will also be eligible to receive a complimentary ticket to the Celebration of Excellence dinner Nov. 4 at The Mirage. Nonmembers may purchase tickets until Oct. 14 at www.ASAcelebration.com.
