Ryan Kooiman, a diagnostic specialist from Allendale, MI, beat out two other finalists in a live final showdown on Las Vegas Boulevard.

Who:
Independent auto technicians over the age of 21 are eligible to enter the Amoco Ultimate Golden Mechanic contest. If you or someone you know goes above and beyond in the garage, be sure to enter today! BP is looking for an ideal candidate who has premium auto repair skills, a charismatic personality, is active in his or her community and is environmentally conscious.

Where: For official rules, regulations and information on how to enter, visit www.bpgoldenmechanic.com.

When:
BP is accepting entries from June 19 to August 11.

Why:
BP wants to reward the mechanic who consistently provides quality service to his or her customers each day. BP is looking for a top-notch auto technician who also embodies its commitment to quality assurance.

Additional details:
BP will select the three best mechanics who will receive an all-expenses paid three day/two night trip to Las Vegas, NV, where they will compete in a head-to-head competition at the 2006 SEMA show to battle it out for the coveted "Golden Wrench."

Winner will receive $25,000, a year’s worth of fuel and the title of Amoco Ultimate spokesperson.
