Gates has expanded its Racing, Performance, Muscle (RPM) line with a new timing belt for the 1993-’94 Nissan Maxima equipped with the 3.0L engine. These timing belts use materials such as high-strength tensile cords, aramid reinforced rubber compound and tough tooth fabric. The company says they are proven to be stronger, last longer and be less susceptible to damage from heat and contamination compared to the OE and competitive timing belts.
Gates also has introduced 22 new RPM Micro-V belts for many popular supercharged applications, including one that fits 2005-’10 Ford Mustang and F-Series pickups with the 4.6L engine, equipped with a Whipple aftermarket supercharger. Gates RPM Micro-V belts utilize multiple adhesion gum layers and nylon reinforcement in a patented EPDM compound, resisting heat and extending service life.
