TRW Launches Brake Pad Wear Sensors For North American Aftermarket

TRW’s North American (NA) Aftermarket Group has launched a range of original equipment (OE) quality brake pad wear sensors to complement its all-makes friction program.

The brake pad wear sensor is an added safety feature on many vehicles used to warn a vehicle’s driver when the brake pads become too low. “Because we understand that automotive components do not work in isolation, at TRW, we think in terms of systems,” said Mark Thorpe, product & marketing group manager, TRW Aftermarket North America. “The quality of one component can have a significant bearing on the performance of another, so we design, develop and manufacture our parts to work in harmony with each other.”

The initial range of 44 parts caters to 48 percent of the North American car parc, according to TRW, and covers a number of makes and models both past and present, including many late-model applications such as 2014 BMW 650i; 2014 Audi A Series; 2014 Audi Q5; 2014 Mercedes-Benz E350 and 2014 Volkswagen Touareg.

Thorpe added, “By choosing TRW’s friction program together with our brake pad wear sensors the next time a brake pad change is due, you will achieve the safest possible combination of parts. And because we also make the technologies that sit behind the parts, you’re benefiting from more than 100 years of engineering excellence. Giving flawless operation, genuine TRW brake pad wear sensors are direct OE replacements with perfect fit, finish and function.”
