ASA Prepares For 3rd Annual Safety Inspection Forum

The forum's mission is to raise awareness about the importance of periodic vehicle inspection programs to motorist's safety and develop strategies to protect these programs nationwide.

On Oct. 19, the Automotive Service Association (ASA), and ASA-Texas, will host the third annual safety inspection forum in Houston. The forum’s mission is to raise awareness about the importance of periodic vehicle inspection programs to motorist’s safety and develop strategies to protect these programs nationwide.

ASA-LogoJade Winfree, senior analyst for the Government Accountability Office (GAO), will be featured as one of the forum’s key participants, presenting the findings of the GAO’s 2015 study on state safety inspection programs. Jojo Heselmeyer, senior manager of the Compliance & Enforcement Service (CES) of the Texas Department of Public Safety, also will share her experiences with the Texas vehicle safety inspection program.

ASA-Texas’ Executive Director Todd Mehalko said, “As your industry trade association, ASA is tuned into and far ahead of the curve on issues that may affect your business as well as public safety concerns. For this reason, we will be hosting the third annual Vehicle Safety Inspection Forum in the Houston area this fall.
