Alabama’s Mercedes-Benz Plant Gives Away Two Of Its Luxury SUVs

ALThe automotive training program at Shelton State Community College in Tuscaloosa, AL, recently received two Mercedes-Benz SUVs that were donated by the Tuscaloosa County operations of Mercedes-Benz. According to the article on AL.com, students who are part of the program and work with these vehicles are learning about the complex systems and processes in modern manufacturing.

The Tuscaloosa County operations of Mercedes-Benz has donated two of the luxury SUVs built there to spark students’ interest in auto manufacturing.

Mercedes-Benz U.S. International Inc. gave an M-Class and a GL-Class to Shelton State Community College to use in its automotive training program.

While the official handover is happening today, students already have gotten their hands on the GL.

They’re tearing it down and building it back up at the West Alabama “Worlds of Work” career expo being held at Shelton State this week.

More than 6,000 middle and high school students from 43 schools in West Alabama are attending the event, which is aimed at developing the region’s future workforce.
