Standard Motor Products, Inc. (SMP) announces its Standard Plus Club technical support program is recognized as a preferred provider to the service dealer customers of the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance (Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper).

The Standard Plus Club (SPC) program provides a complete package of support for the professional service dealer: a diagnostic hotline, online technical information, technical training, discounts on training DVDs, ASE study guides and specification manuals.

The Technical Hotline provides solutions to more than 40,000 callers per year. ASE certified technicians have a minimum of five years experience in both OE and independent shops. In addition to their technical experience, they are supported by a $1,000,000 OE factory manual library and multiple electronic libraries. An in-house workshop has all of the diagnostic equipment that you will find in today’s hi-tech shops so they can work closely with any technician to help quickly diagnose any issue.

The SPC online website offers technical information and solutions 24/7 that include: a searchable trouble code feature, drive cycle tests, wiring diagrams, TSBs, the Motor labor guide, and extensive databases covering engine management, temperature control, air bags, brakes, TPMS systems, torque specs, transmissions, timing belts, water pumps, fuel filters, cabin air filters and much more.

The SMP Training Center’s 18 Pro Seminar instructors train close to 40,000 technicians per year at local sites around the country on today’s latest technologies including Hybrids, and the Ford 7.3 Powerstroke and the GM Duramax diesel systems.

“This is a 360° program which focuses on ongoing training for technicians and includes immediate hotline technical support on the latest high technology vehicles and systems,” said John Wick, vice president of sales and training at the Automotive Aftermarket Alliance.
