New MAHLE TechPRO Scan Tool To Be Demonstrated At NACE | CARS In Detroit

MAHLE-TechPRO-Scan-200x300MAHLE Service Solutions will hold demonstrations for its new TechPRO diagnostic scan tool during NACE | CARS 2015 in Detroit. The demonstrations will be conducted by leading technicians, Bogi Lateiner and Donny Seyfer, at 2 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. on July 23, and 5:15 p.m. on July 25 at the MAHLE Service Solutions booth No. 1131.

Lateiner, an ASE certified mechanic, stars on the Velocity Channel’s “All Girls Garage.” She is the founder and owner of 180 Degrees Automotive – a full-service auto repair shop in central Phoenix. Seyfer is the second-generation owner of a repair shop in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, and is an ASE Master mechanic with more than 30 years of experience. A promotional video from Lateiner can be viewed here.

TechPRO is a new generation tool based on what professional technicians asked for: speed in diagnostics, low cost of entry and a standardize, easy user interface. This laptop- or tablet-enabled device features the ability to decode a vehicle identification number (VIN) in one second with a single click. Speed of diagnosis is measured in seconds versus minutes for competitors’ tools, according to the company.

The new device was engineered so the vehicle communication interface (VCI) and software can be used with a technician’s current desktop, laptop or tablet, making it unnecessary to buy or lease extra hardware. In addition, regular vehicle data and software updates are downloaded automatically and seamlessly via the Internet.

In addition to showcasing TechPRO at NACE | CARS, MAHLE will feature its ArcticPRO ACX1280 A/C machine that efficiently processes the new R1234yf refrigerant. Since its introduction last year, the ACX1280 has received positive customer feedback for its fully automatic features that make for easy, time-saving and precise service for air conditioning systems in vehicles that use R1234yf refrigerant.

MAHLE also is a sponsor of the CARS Young Technician Program’s July 24 outing to Detroit’s historic Greektown. The Young Technician Program is limited to 30 attendees and is designed to help young technicians make the jump from general repair to diagnostic work.

Taking place July 21-25 at Detroit’s Cobo Center, NACE represents the only B2B event of its kind specifically designed for collision repair industry professionals from around the globe. CARS – the premier event for automotive service professionals – features a high-quality education lineup led by industry leaders, along with an exhibitor showcase of automotive service and repair-related equipment, products and services.
