It’s Tool Fair Time! Mac Tools 2011 Tool Fair

Be sure to ask your tool and equipment distributors if they attended the recent shows. They should be bringing you the latest in tools offered. Since the TechShop team was there too, we're providing a short re-cap of the Mac, Matco and Cornwell tool shows for you.

This year’s Tool Fair challenged Mac Tools distributors with a mission to “Rule the Shop.”

Expanding its diagnostic line, Mac Tools introduced three new diagnostic scan tools for the automotive aftermarket — the new Mac TaskConnect, TaskPlus and TaskCode. The TaskConnect features access to a database of 3 million fixes verified by ASE technicians, a component locator and acronym library. Click here for the Product Preview.

aircat pneumatic tools got distributors to stop by their booth for a game of plinko. jim costigan, a distributor out of fox river grove, il, won the aircat 1/2” twin clutch.

Rock Tyson, vice president of sales and m arketing for Ken-Tool, said their Blue Cobra truck tire demount tool is “selling like crazy.” The tool, which was introduced in March 2010, is ergonomically designed to allow a technician to quickly demount nearly any 22.5” or 24.5” tubeless truck tire with a single tool.

Other show highlights were Mac Tools tool boxes with special features including a charging station inside the box for lap top computers, phones, etc. The box also included a lap top computer drawer with a USB port and Internet hook-up accessibility.

At the show, Mac introduced its Expert brand of set-based tools supporting the needs of the Mac Tools customers. The full line of tools offers lifetime warranties. Chip Foose, hot rod shop owner, automotive designer and fabricator, was on hand to sign autographs and promote this new line.

More than $100,000 in prizes was being given away on the show floor.

Sandy Whitney of Palm Harbor, FL, attended the Tool Fair with her husband Bill. Like many others, she was drawn to the pink tool box.
