Affinia Group’s WIX Filtration Wins 2006 Spirit of NAPA Award

Affinia Group recently received its third consecutive Spirit of NAPA Award, which recognizes the manufacturer/supplier that has provided the most outstanding vendor support and service to the NAPA organization during the year.

Affinia Group recently received its third consecutive Spirit of NAPA Award, which recognizes the manufacturer/supplier that has provided the most outstanding vendor support and service to the NAPA organization during the year.

Presented to Affinia Under Hood Group’s Wix Filtration/NAPA Filters for a record-setting seventh time, the Spirit of NAPA Award is one of the most prestigious awards in the automotive aftermarket. Affinia’s other business unit, the Under Vehicle Group, is also a long-standing supplier of NAPA, supplying brake and chassis parts. Between the two business units, Affinia has won the Spirit of NAPA award 13 times.

"It is an astounding achievement for Affinia to be the first company recognized for three straight years with the Spirit of NAPA Award," said Terry McCormack, president and CEO of Affinia Group Inc. "This year NAPA Filters, made for NAPA by Wix Filtration, is celebrating its 40th year of service to NAPA, and we believe that such a level of success is a tribute to the customer devotion our people have consistently displayed to NAPA from the very beginning.”

Presented by Bob Susor, president of NAPA, the 2006 Spirit of NAPA Award was accepted on behalf of Affinia by John Washbish, vice president, general manager for Affinia Under Vehicle Group and president of customer relationship management for Affinia.

Washbish was accompanied onstage to accept the award by Affinia CEO Terry McCormack; Jerry McCabe, vice president of business architecture; Jim Bruney, director of customer relationship management; Dave McColley, vice president of category management for Affinia’s Under Hood Group; Keith Wilson, vice president and general manager for Affinia’s Under Hood Group; Gordon Curren, senior vice president of Affinia’s NAPA customer relationship management; and Clark McKissock, general manager of NAPA filters sales.

"Receiving the Spirit of NAPA award for the 13th time is a testament to Affinia’s dedication to customer service," Curren said. "This achievement could not have been realized without the tireless support we receive for WIX/NAPA Filters from Bryan Palmieri, senior product manager, and Gary Silva, senior vice president of global procurement, both of NAPA, as well as all the NAPA distribution centers’ and stores’ personnel."
