Openbay Adds Android Pay And Multimedia Messages To Android App

Screen Shot 2016-08-23 at 2.11.37 PMOpenbay has announced that its android application now accepts Android Pay, and has added multi-media messaging functionality.

Now, when consumers need auto repair and maintenance service, they can compare, book and pay for local automotive service through Openbay without ever having to take out a wallet. With Android Pay, Openbay users may simply tap to pay. Credit and debit card information is not shared, adding an extra layer of security.

This company says this also benefits auto repair shops, which are saved the hassle of upgrading point-of-sales terminals in order to accept Android Pay. By using Android Pay, service providers, including franchise dealerships, independent shops and mobile mechanics, lower their risk of responsibility for fraudulent charges.

Openbay’s Android users also may now enjoy another huge benefit — exchanging photos, video and text with their mechanics through multimedia messages.

“Openbay works to anticipate consumers’ and service providers’ needs, and to deliver technology that’s commensurate with what consumers have come to expect in every facet of their lives,” said Rob Infantino, founder and CEO of Openbay.

“By connecting Android users to their technicians via text, photo and video, we’re removing barriers, increasing trust and providing tools for providers to educate their customers. Once the transaction is complete, customers may tap to pay via Android Pay, never even having to take out a wallet. And service providers benefit from that technology, without having to make any investment in point-of-sale terminals,” he continued.
