Bosch Launches New Line Of SmartCharge Battery Chargers/Maintainers

Robert Bosch LLC has announced a new line of the SmartCharge Battery Chargers/Maintainers. The new high-quality, ergonomically-shaped chargers are designed with advanced safety and smart features and come equipped with a full accessory package.

bosch-smartchargeState-of-the-art technology and self-monitoring functions ensure that new Bosch SmartCharge Battery Chargers promote long battery life while delivering spark protection, overheating protection, reverse polarity protection and overcharging protection, says the company. The chargers will automatically switch between trickle and pulse modes, adjusting the charging algorithm according to the state of the battery. The new digital display, available on the SmartCharge Plus and SmartCharge Pro, allows users to see the status of the charge in real time and receive safety alerts.

The new Bosch SmartCharge line covers applications including passenger vehicles, classic cars, motorcycles, boats, ATVs, snowmobiles and delivery vehicles. The SmartCharge Pro also is compatible with heavy-duty trucks. With three different models to choose from, Bosch SmartCharge Battery Chargers suit the needs of the professional technician as well as the DIYer, the company says.

SmartCharge Pro Professional-level battery charger/maintainer

• Six different charging modes, with a 12- or 24-volt output
• Maximum charging speed of 7 amps
• Digital display indicates voltage of battery during charging
• Compatible with a wide range of applications, including heavy-duty trucks, Class 4 and above

SmartCharge Plus Mid-level battery charger/maintainer

• Four different charging modes, with a 6- or 12-volt output
• Maximum charging speed of 3.8 amps
• Digital display indicates voltage of battery during charging

SmartCharge Entry-level battery charger/maintainer

• Two different charging modes, with a 12-volt output
• Maximum charging speed of 3.5 amps
• LED charging indicator

The cables included with Bosch SmartCharge Battery Chargers are water- and oil-resistant for added durability. Each model also comes equipped with an accessory package, which includes fully-insulated and removable clamps, quick-connect harness with mounting rings, cable fuse for safety and protection, mounting hooks and an SAE adapter for enhanced compatibility.
